Become a Volunteer Breeder Caretaker for Freedom Paws Assistance Dogs today!

Picture
Freedom Paws only chooses the best of the best to become breeders . We carefully select these dogs based on health screenings, temperament, and trainability. Freedom Paws mainly use Labrador Retrievers and Golden Retrievers. Freedom Paws also use Shetland Sheepdogs, Border Collies, and McNabs for our more specialized fields, such as hearing dogs and diabetic alert dogs.

As a breeder caretaker you will be in charge of taking care of one of these special dogs. You will be responsible for providing a loving home for your Freedom Paws breeder dog. You will be responsible for all expenses for the dog except the expenses related to breeding. You must live within 100 miles of headquarters in Marysville, Ohio. You must attend meetings, and work closely with Freedom Paws breeding staff.

Caretakers for the male breeders must be willing to bring the dog to headquarters at breeding time.

Caretakers for the female breeders must be willing to bring the dog to headquarters for boarding when the breeder comes into heat. The caretaker must be willing to whelp and nurture a litter for their first eight weeks of life.
